Why am I only able to find information that says narcissism is incurable?

I am in the sad situation of discovering I am a narcissistic person and after almost a year of angrily fighting this idea, mostly with my wife, I have accepted the truth as I need to find an answer to kill, to stop, to strangle this monster that is in me!!!

It seems that this task is IMPOSSIBLE. Everything I read, everything I find, wherever I try to find explanations, comments, EVERYTHING seems to say overcoming narcissism is a lost cause. I feel as if the best option would be to live in Antartica so I would not disturb anyone!

I am hopeful there is help or advice that that I can use to resolve my situation and live a healthy life with my wife and family.

Thanks for any positive comments. Cheers everyone!

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
