What does a society that creates so many prisoners reveal about itself?

If we somehow manage to accept that most prisoners deserve to be locked up, what does it say about the society that produced so many "bad" people as a percentage of the total population (the most extreme example being the United States)?

tynamite's avatar That America has a prison system with more prisoners than Europe has, where the scum of society, the degenerates, more specifically the poor people, are systematically targeted and put into prison, and forced to work as slaves for corporations or suffer beatings if they refuse. They are sent to prison for being poor.

America = Run by corporations. Democracy is dead, and the president is a puppet.

If America has two choices between what is profitable, and what is ethical, they will always choose what is profitable.

To make things worse, the media will install such whitewashed views that prisoners are uneducated (hence the question about that here), to keep the citizens from knowing the truth about the dispicable prison system, because as far as the media is concerned, prisoners are evil, and the justice and gentrification system is good.

That is corruption at its finest.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
