Should we stop a person who is committing suicide?

When should we and when should we not?

When normal people want to commit suicide, we try to stop them because we believe them to have a quality of life. But when a severely disabled person wants to commit suicide such as Tony Nicklinson who's been paralysed for 7 years due to locked in syndrome after a stroke or if someone has a terminal illness such as Alzeimers like Terry Prachett who had his euthanasia filmed in a BBC documentary, we instead say they are justified in taking suicide and support them in the process.

In my opinion, people should be allowed to kill themselves whenever they want because death is the end of suffering and people should have a choice whether they want to suffer or not. And I have no problem with Amanda Todd committing suicide, even though I would of tried to stop her if I could. Convincing someone against committing suicide is not the same as being anti-suicide, as you're not exactly stopping them from doing so.

Also people who are severely disabled don't deserve to be born like severely autistic people who are born retarded who cannot communicate or look after themselves, or deaf and blind people. If a pregnant woman knew she would give birth to a child like that, I would support her in having an abortion and encourage it too, and so would the doctors!

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
