What makes Facebook so incredibly good at design? This includes regularly adapting. To what extent has design implemented by Facebook led to measurably better results?

This includes regularly adapting. To what extent has design implemented by Facebook led to measurably better results? Twitter by comparison doesn't seem to be anywhere close to as well designed.

tynamite's avatar The main things are that Facebook has

  • Heavy Consistency
  • They adapt their product as to how people are using their product. (eg. events, pages got made as people made profiles for brands)
  • A common visual labelling system, much like Transport for London, the UK road signs, or the Metro gui. When people see the colours, icons/signs, buttons, and other conventions, they know what they mean. This means that Facebook is very easily identifable as an environment when social plugins or Facebook Connect is used.

How many other computer companies do you know, apart from Apple, which have those three things.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
