Why has SoundCloud (product) not been shut down by the RIAA for promoting piracy?

Doesn't Soundcloud promote music piracy the same way as some other similar music services that have been forced to shut down by the RIAA?

Why have they survived without getting sued?

tynamite's avatar Soundcloud does not promote piracy. Datpiff is to Soundcloud as Youtube is to Vimeo.
Soundcloud is designed for users to share their own music, not others. There is no laissez faire policy like the file lockers (Rapidshare, Megaupload) have. There is no We'll allow copyright infringement on our site, unless you catch us and report it policy going on.

Soundcloud respects the DMCA and does not use its Safe Harbor clause to excuse them for hosting copyright infringing conent.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
