tynamite's avatar There is no such thing as the best and worst areas of freelance to make money.

All areas of freelancing are hard to get, no matter how skilled you are, it's just that some areas are easier to do than others. The best advice to give, is to not look for work in places that commoditise creatives, for example, Behance.

There are agencies who charge $35k per web designs that look rubbish, and two thirds of people who leave university with Art and Design degrees, won't be able to get a job in that. Unless you're lucky enough to work for an agency, any job you do get, will be out of luck for being at the right place at the right time.

Everyone I know including me who has ever got work in our desired industry got it for being extremely lucky, in a way that looks like a fluke. I live in Birmingham, UK - England's 2nd capital city. There's not much creative jobs here, because I don't live in London, but in Scotland, it's far worse! However a person on my msn who lives in Chile is working in an agency as Chile is a small country nobody has heard of, so it's easy for him to get prestigious work such as being contracted by the government.

It's a case of being at the right place at the right time.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
