Of course they think it's a right. It's not their fault that their government is corrupt by fixing healthcare prices. Only in America could you have a system where single people pay more for healthcare than a married couple. People didn't vote for the Healthcare Senate Bill.
Why do many Americans think that healthcare is not a right for its own taxpaying citizens, and should it not be considered as, or more, important by the American public than is education?
Many believe in the right to go to school because it is an investment in the American people and because it enables people to pursue their dreams. Shouldn't healthcare be equally important (if not more important) for the same reason?

I'm unsure how the government fixes health care costs. I think that is done by the insurance and pharmaceutical companies. Or are you suggesting that the health insurance companies and the government are colluding?

The government fixes healthcare by having price fixing companies that create artificial competition. Health insurance companies pay food companies to make their food bad so that you get sick. Read my answer for Is private health care in Britain as expensive as it is here in the States?

How about instead of having a public health service run by the government like the NHS or what Canada has, the government instead gives out vouchers for whenever you're ill, to pay for the treatments. Which would be a better option?
