An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Google+ will kill Linkedin, as it doesn't seem like a tool you use to keep in touch with people you once knew or currently know in your life. The Circles concept will kill Linkedin, and it will work for that, but will unfortunately not be the thing that Google was hoping for.
