Apple using their own advertising network to promote their own products is called cross promotion. Apple likes to see itself as a company so good, that it doesn't have to stoop that low, and can be self sufficent enough not to rely on such tactics.
Why doesn't Apple use iAds to advertise for its own products?
While Apple iAds have been reported with low fill rate, it would seem natural to do so. Notwithstanding of course the fact, that iAds are in theory the perfect advertising solutions for high-quality premium brands such as Apple's.
