Should Quora remove the option to alter the "allow comments on my answers and posts" feature?

This really is not a contact or privacy feature since the question, answer and post are public. It seems like it goes against the spirit of an open discussion and I find it annoying that I can't respond to an answer. If you are going to write a public answer or post that everyone is going to read shouldn't everyone be able to respond?

Most of the answers now being submitted on Quora are personal or opinionated answers, that give anecdotal information, with the primary source being the person who answered the question.

For that reason, that option should be removed, as primary sources of information - mainly anecdotal information - need to be able to be critiqued for credibility.

Discussion controls are required, to allow others to put that answer into context by asking questions so they can understand, and people need to be able to challenge via comments such new anecdotal information, that doesn't exist anywhere else on the internet.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
