Are people who are not smart typically unable to tell who is smart?

In other words, is smartness correlated with being able to distinguish smart from stupid people?

tynamite's avatar Yes. Every time I meet someone new, they tell me that I am clever even though we're not talking about topical stuff like politics or science. We're only talking about fun stuff. There is something about me that is clever, but I don't know what it is, as I hardly ever reveal to people what I know.

I only know 2 people who are clever. My brother, and a girl I had in class who was emotionally and intellectually smarter than me. I literally felt stupid around her.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
