Should obesity be treated like a nasty personal habit like smoking?

How the hell do you get so obese that you find it hard to walk up the stairs, and fit through doorways? What goes through your mind when you're doing that? There is overweight, fat, and OBESE. At least smokers have to deal with nicotine addictions, and typically cannot visibly see the damage they cause quick enough.

If smoking is a nasty habit, then obesity has to be much worse, for the pure audacity of obese people being blind to their obesity. When people smoke, they don't expect to get lung cancer in the next year, but people can get obese within a year, and they do nothing about it. What kind of a madness is that?

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
