What is the biggest to traditional universities?

People go to university because they want to be qualified at a job, or because they already are qualified but can't get a job. I would say that most people in university are the latter, people from Art & Design or Engineering and Computing schools, already able to do the work that they their university qualifies them to do, but they want to make something of their life and get a job so they go.

What's the point of going to university to get a piece of paper saying you can do something that you can already do, if there's an agency willing to sign you up as soon as you finish school?

The agencies would be able to provide more opportunities than the universities, despite their population of affluent people and societies. Agencies will also put pressure on universities to actually teach skills that their students need to know once they graduate, rather than hide behind the pretence of "independent learning", where students most often pay course fees to buy books.

Update

3 out of 5 people who graduate from Art & Design cannot get a job in their field, yet they go university anyway as it's the only chance they have to make it, plus that they can network with all the people and opportunities that their place provides. Couldn't agencies change that?

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
