tynamite's avatar Quora is where people ask all the questions they have in real life, that they wouldn't dare to ask to someone's face. Quora is like the boiling pot of the Internet, where all the thoughts on perspectives, come together, from behind the shadows. In fact most of the questions about women on this website, are offensive or borderline offensive.

Where do you draw the line?
What about the question...
Is there a net worth at which gold diggers are attracted to a person? If so, at what net worth is it?
Just like the question you found offensive, this question isn't deogrative to women either, it just asks an objective question; but offense is implied, and cannot be proven.

You could say that the whole Question That Contains Assumptions topic full of offensive questions, by tarnishing everyone with the same brush, with their sweeping statements.

But where do you draw the line?
Does that mean that people shouldn't be allowed to ask these sorts of questions on Quora?
The only way to eradicate these sorts of questions from Quora, is for Quora to not allow people to post questions anonymously anymore. But that's never going to happen.

Yes I have to admit the is it contagious part is deliberately being offensive, as we all know that smells aren't contagious; but this is real life, not a school playground.

In life, we all come across people who say things that we find offensive, or things that we don't like. To quit Quora over it, means that you are infantile and have a defeatist attitude. Just get over it and move on with your life. Fix up yourself. People say bad things about me on a regular basis. People say bad things about other people on a regular basis. Not everyone likes everyone. It's not to say that any of you two are wrong, as none of you are; but you should just look at this as a mere difference of opinion, and then go about your day.

I'm sure there's people who will find the gold diggers question offensive, and there will be some people who will find the Are there any women who are considered to be 10x engineers? question offensive.

While some women won't mind that question, there will be other women who are offended by that question. Maybe you are making this more about you, than you are about the question, as other people don't mind.

In fact we all do things that we don't like. I've been blocked by various people for my answers on Quora, had a comment deleted and answers downvoted when talking about women on this website.

Does that mean that I've done something wrong?
Does that mean that I should change for other people, or change what I say?
Does that mean that the people who don't like what I say, should continue to behave how they do?

Just change your perspective on things. I'm sure there's things that you say, that I will find offensive, or things that someone else will find offensive. I just won't contemplate quitting Quora over it.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
