tynamite's avatar I first wanted to be a fashion designer, then architect so I could design buildings but I scrapped that to get into something to with computers. I wanted to be a writer, run a tv channel, radio channel, have my own operating system, hardware, software (like Apple), make tv shows, write books, make albums, make podcasts and be a fashion designer.

The first website I made was a portal to compete with MSN/Lycos/Yahoo/AOL/Go called A.Surfer. I shut it down as I couldn't compete with those large companies as they had lots of staff and resources. I was going to write all the content for my portal.

The second website I made was called NAET (pronounced nay-yet). It was designed to compete with Encarta, About.com, BBC Bitesize, Webmonkey and it was supposed to be an educational website about academia and technology. I scrapped it as the amount of work to create the content for an educational website is LOADS and it was a lot for me to do one person.

The third website I made was called elerhost, which was a web hosting company. I shut it down as there were too many cartels in the industry, intellectual property theft cartels, so it was hard to compete, even if offering free hosting.

The forth website I made was Prowler which was a collection of blogs and tools to help webmasters get free traffic. It had various tools like banner exchange, link building, topsites, a review blog, link directory etc. I scrapped that because I don't have enough traffic to justify running it, but once I get a high traffic website, I'll put Prowler back up.

The next websites I ran were, Tynamite (music), BI Radio and Filter My Arse. Filter My Arse was an educational wiki for school kids LOL :D

After that I ran two review blogs called MoreGs (for making money online) and Prowler Loves (webmaster review blog), and I shut them down as I could see the writing on the wall. The market was getting saturated with too many "review blogs" and I knew it would no longer be profitable in the years to come, but I did make over £1000 from it, thousands of pounds.

tynamite's avatar I started my Hostingz Accent company at age 4 and I spent nearly every day writing on paper. This was the days when the Windows 98 computer cost £1000 and only had 7.5GB of space, we had to share the computer and there was dial up internet. The stack of papers was so high I had to put them in folders and boxes. What most people don't know, is that unfortunately I have had 17 years of my intellectual property destroyed. Here's the stuff that got destroyed.2 excercise books full of rules for tabletop games (card/board/puzzle)

Eight game boards for a board game called Blocker
A mathematical symbol I invented that you can use in sums
A code for english that changes the letters to a different letter, to make english sound nicer when spoken
Designs for MP3 players (It's a shame Apple stopped making iPods)
Designs for feature phones (before smartphones came out)
A device called SimSam that you insert your sim card into, and it shows you your contacts, you scroll through them, and you can copy your contacts to another sim card. (Now we use iCloud and Google Contacts)
Short stories I wrote as a child
Three books of song lyrics that got destroyed
I had a book I wrote two children's tv shows in, Has Mum Got The Nick, and some comedy action series called Outers and an action cartoon called O Man that had a villian called The Omen.I made up 60 card games, I also had board games called Flippin, It's Flipping Hard, It's Flipping Harder, It's Flipping Hardest, The Crystal Maze (I would have to rename it to avoid a trademark dispute), Flipicture, Crossover, Blocker (with 5 game boards), and Blocker Chess (with over 30 game boards).Even if I can't remember what the board games were as I was a child, maybe I should try to recreate them. There was a website that had thousands of downloads of old CD-Roms and gaming roms. The ISO Zone. I'm saddened the website shut down. There was so many rare games on it that you can't buy again. I know another website for getting rare games from the 90s.

tynamite's avatar My mum was always in the house and my dad was always out the house. My mum spent little time with me and my dad spent loads of time with me. So I ended up with a LOT of conflicting beliefs of how one should think and live their life.

The economy was good. £40-50 filled up 2 large shopping trolleys. Banks, credit cards and catalogues were lending money like crazy. Inflation was low. You could live on the minimum wage in one job. Prices never kept increasing all the time. JSA was £60 a week and I was raised on benefits to a poverty stricken family eating dumplings and baked beans sometimes or no central heating sometimes. Sometimes we had to go to school in the previous school year's uniform and pretend it was new.

We really struggled for everything we had and had to work VERY hard at our education and talents.

I went to 5 schools. I was bullied in 2 of them, popular in 2 of them and in one of them neutral popularity as the class never really had friendship groups we just did whatever.

After I wrote my first 2 novels, I sent the manuscripts to publishers, and nobody wanted to publish me because I was considered to be experimental, and I never fit into the carbon cookie cutter format. For example:

a) Fantasy books (Harry Potter, Game of Thrones)
b) Biographies of someone famous (this includes rags to riches stories like Richard Branson biographies)
c) Books about child abuse
d) Young adult books (Jacqueline Wilson, Bali Rai)
e) Romance books (Twilight, 50 Shades of Gray)
f) Humourous children's books (Jeremy Strong, Anne Fine, Terrence Blacker, Roald Dahl)

Those are the ONLY books that publishers want to publish nowadays. If you write a novel that falls outside of those 6 categories, publishers will not want to publish you, because you will be considered a financial risk.

You have to understand that because of the digital revolution, nobody buys books any more!!! Since broadband internet and CGI graphics, everyone watches Youtube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch. You'd be hard pressed nowadays to find ANYONE you know who reads books! Who actually reads books nowadays???

I had a lot of smiley optimistic people tell me that I could get published, but I read the rejection emails I got and they didn't. I found that EVERY email from all the publishers said the SAME EXACT THING!!! That it was experimental.

That's why I use Writers Cafe. Because there is an advertising network on the website you can use to promote your books, so you make money xD.

tynamite's avatar Time is not a renewable resource. If you waste time on someone, you can't get it back. What use is spending time with someone, if the relationship isn't healthy?

tynamite's avatar I think that in life there can be a lot of obstacles preventing you from getting what you want, and people who will actively try to stop you from getting what you want. The world can be a cruel place.

I also think that most people do not respect writers.
All writers want to do is write, but they face a lot of threats from the haters, the SJWs, the bullies. People have tried to hack and negative SEO my websites and failed LOL. A lot of writers get "hate comments", but if you notice, I NEVER get hate comments. I think that's because there's merit to the things I say. I can back it up. My writing comes from either my life experience, a concept I want to portray, or knowledge I've gained from reading blogs and news articles. I think that if you can back up the things you say with facts or emperical evidence, that you won't get any hate comments - which I never do xD

I was very popular in 2 schools, and I'm popular in a social environment because I'm outgoing and frank. I meet and speak to a lot of girls whose mindset comes from a position of jealousy and envy after observing me for whatever reason, and they make it their high priority to try to waste my time for as long as possible. I've learnt how to detect them. Women are experts at wasting men's time.

Then there's the people who get triggered, rude, talking about you behind your back, refuse to engage with you and sometimes physically abusive because they don't like your opinions.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
