Why should people who don't have kids support education and educational programs?

My 12 year old daughter wants to submit an essay on this topic. I gave her lots of reasons but she wants more so I told her I would post the question for her to get a range of answers from other perspectives.

Update

Education is something that has a strong correlation to someone's health and wage bracket later on in life. By making the country more educated through free education, it provides all citizens of that country benefits from birth, that in turn makes them more prosperous and gives them a better lifestyle. There are many sources for this.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
