Which words are the most similar across all languages? I’m looking for etymologically stable words. What words have largely remained unchanged (ignoring slight spelling variations) over a long period (at least 1000 years) of time?

I am looking for etymologically stable words. Preferably interesting words that aren't obvious, e.g. "tin". Words that have been very stable for centuries, going back to the Proto-Indo-European language or any other language family.

What other words have largely remain unchanged (ignoring slight spelling variations) over a long period (at least 1000 years) of time?

Neologisms and loanwords don't count.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
