Does being stronger, smarter, and more clever than all my friends make me better than them?

I out perform them in the weight room and on the basketball courts, I consistently get the highest grades in our classes, and it is generally agreed that I am the funnier and more clever guy in our rather large circle of friends. I am a very positive person, many of my professors mentioning that I exhibit "healthy narcissism" as I relish in my accomplishments but understand my limits and I treat others with respect and patience despite their disadvantage when they are matching wits and conversation with me.

tynamite's avatar I believe that you shouldn't compare yourself to others, because people make up for their positives in other ways. People have shortcomings that make up for their positives.

This reminds me of the What is it like to be friends with a super person? question. I've been friends with some "super people", who everybody wants to be their friend. As soon as I start to compare myself to them for a second, I think "One gains what the other loses." Even if they are super, I don't only want to be friends with super people. I've been friends with people who everyone wants to be their friend, and not once do I think that they are better than anyone else.

If I started to think along them lines, I would think about the 99% things that super people lack, that other people don't, because super people don't really do much, and aren't really X enough, so they get lots of unwarranted attention.

I could even use me as an example. It might sound like I know everything about life and that I'm superior to others to some people, but there are lots of things that I'm not good at or don't do on Quora, that other people on Quora are good at, and actually do. I wouldn't say that I'm superior to anyone else, even though 4 people here find me facinating, as I wouldn't consider myself to be a suitable replacement for talking to other people, even if I am apparently a "super person".

I will believe that you are superior to your friends, the minute that my friends replace 4 of their friends with me.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
