What internet shorthand words are used in real life? What do you think of this?

Have you heard people use Lol | Brb | WYSIWYG or other shorthands?
What do you think of this kind of use of these words in normal dialog?

tynamite's avatar I think it makes people look dumb because it means that they can't articulate how they feel in real life. It's like how some people keep saying fucking this and fucking that every 5 seconds in every sentence, because they can't articulate how they feel as well. You know the ones!

It makes you look well stupid.

I've seen people use the word lol in conversation, but that didn't last long, as spurring the word lol out your mouth as a sentence, just because you can't think of anything good to say, it makes you look kinda foolish. Imagine if you was at the bar or at work or something, and your friend tells you a funny story, and you kept saying lol 5 times in their long anecdote. That would be silly innit?

Shorthand internet acronyms, are not the sort of words people can use in real life, as it makes you look worse when you use them, like you don't know how to talk to people because you're impaired.

If you're going to do it, don't show that you can't say any other words than those shorthand words.

PS. I've only seen gamers use gamers use the word lol in conversation, but people don't like to hang round with gamers because they always act all derped.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
