What determines if a friend is proud of you, jealous of you, or something in between?

And how is it signalled?

If a friend expresses that they're happy for you over something that you've done or gained, they are proud of you.

If a friend has a desire to hold you back or have a problem with your progress or the reactions you get off people in a way that doesn't seem healthy and is void of reasonable logic, they probably are jealous.

If a friend was besotted or held admiration for you when conversing with you, and then suddenly for seemingly no reason that person goes cold, then they are jealous of you.

You'll have to figure out the rest.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
