If a girl is comfortable with a guy as a friend, why does that have to be branded as a sin and the most uncool thing to do?

It's not a sin. It's just a phrase that got made up as a joke, to highlight how the dating scene is skewed favourably towards females; and then some white knights took it seriously, when they noticed that the object of their desire went for jerks who treat them bad, despite them never doing or intending to do the same as those jerks.

It's not about entitlement. It's about women being perceived to go for jerks instead of nice guys. Many women go in and out of relationships and can't have a stable one.
