tynamite's avatar To teach your child web design, point them at W3Schools.

Why would you want your child to get into web design? There's not much money in it. The internet is competitive as it is.If I don't like anyone in real life, I can get someone over the internet and add them to msn.

Firefox 2 came out in 2009. Firefox 3 came out in 2010. Firefox 4 came out in 2011 introducing HTML5. Twitter and Facebook fails to work in Firefox 2. The internet is moving at a very fast rate, faster than ever before. If you can't keep up, you'll fall behind and be rendered useless by the web design industry. By the way, W3Schools is partly outdated. Two years ago everything I needed to know about web design was on that site. Not anymore.

This page will explain more better about how quick the internet moves in terms of web design.

I refuse to do freelancing with an online marketplace, as I'll be paid below the UK £5.85 minimum wage, as I'll be competing with countries like India and Romania whose minimum wage is appaling.

If your child works for an agency, your child will most likely earn £19,200 gross (before tax) a year. That's if they're lucky. Only 40% of graphic design graduates get jobs, and some of them can draw really well.

If the unlikely decision happens that your child does work for an web design agency

Christian says your child should learn HTML. Carl says you shouldn't teach a young child coding. HTML is not coding. It's a markup language. HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language.

Expanding on what Carl says, Wix is a site builder. Squarespace is a form of content management. They are two completely different things.

I run a webhost, so if you're interested, you can host websites on my webhost.

Update

I learnt how to be a good web designer by buying the books from Smashing Magazine.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
