Is it legal for me to copy chunks of content from a US federal government website, and post it to my own site? What if I give attribution?

tynamite's avatar Are you familiar with laws of how much you are legally allowed to photocopy from a book? It's the reason why schools cannot photocopy 100% of a textbook then stop buying new textbooks.

Whilst you can copy chunks of content from a government site, yes, you cannot copy most or even many pages of the content, as you would be seen as subverting the site by trying to steal their traffic (or money).

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
