Why is it that if girls act like boys they are tomboys, but if boys act like girls they are bullied and called gay?

Tractors, sport and weapons are considered manly, which has to do with sculpting society - men creating the world they live in. Dolls, flowers, cooking and make up are considered girly, which has to do with nurturing people - women shaping the people they inhabit. There is a disconnect and distinct difference between what is manly and what is girly, there is no overlap. Compare Lego City to Lego Friends.

A young girl would be considered brash and confident for doing manly things, going against the tide, but a young boy would be considered gay as in emotionally weak, because that's what girly things are, gay as in emasculated. Why? Because being a tomboy says nothing about your emotional thresholds and stoicism, but doing girly things would.

The fact of the matter is that females are not sexually attracted to males who show emotion, or males that cry, so a boy who does something girly is making himself less attractive to females. Being emotional and nurturing is going against masculinity, the very thing women find attractive. You cannot be masculine and nurturing/emotional at the same time, but you can be sculpting and feminine at the same time.

Children are very good at picking up social cues and pressures, even if they lack experience socially. What children notice, is that females are allowed to cry and show emotion, but males are not allowed to show emotion around males and females particularly. A little boy would rather cry around men than women, if given the choice. Look at schools, boys are drugged up far more often than girls.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
