On Twitter and Quora, why do users follow thousands of other users? How do they track all these people? What would they miss if they didn't follow so many people?

Unfollow churn is when people follow you on Twitter and unfollow you in a few days.
Follow churn is when people follow you on Twitter with no interest in reading your Tweets. If they're following 2000+ people, they'll block the people they don't like, keeping them thinking they're still reading their tweets and tweet replies.
Older Twitter accounts don't tweet as often as newer accounts, so that's why the number is at 2000.

Such people are called fags within internet culture, because they are the ones who join popular websites and ruin the experience for everyone else, for their all selfish narcicistic gain, - all without trolling. The results are much worse when fags join art websites like deviantART and Soundcloud posting their crap work inside 100+ groups, to say the least.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
