Is it shallow to love someone for their looks?

tynamite's avatar All relationships are based on something. If a relationship is based on looks, then after the honeymoon period, it will become questionable as to why it exists. In relationships, both partners want something off each other. If all they have to offer each other are their looks, then eventually the relationship won't work. Someone somewhere will be trying to fit something where it doesn't fit. The relationship would have no foundations holding it up, and it would eventually disintegrate.

Yes it is shallow to select someone based on how they look. Monogamy and polygamy encourages people to be shallow. It's a shame there's no middle ground.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
