Why is dubstep so popular?

tynamite's avatar Because dubstep takes inspiration from many sources of music, it's likable by so many people. It's an artist's influences who defines the fanbase of their music; and how varied their influences are that determine how big their fanbase is.

I can apply this same rule to many other artists.

Why is Kanye West popular among people who don't listen to hip hop? Because he listens to indie and alternative music as well, and some of that rubs off into his music.
Why is Gorillaz more popular than Blur? Because Gorillaz has wider influences. Both bands are made by the same person.
Why is Skrillex more popular than Pendulum? Because Skrillex takes influences from emo music, metal, ravecore, drum n bass, dubstep, electro etc.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
