What's so special about facials?
Do they do something for your skin that something you could buy at a drug or department store couldn't do? Or is it about the spa experience? Or what? If it's something special about the product they use, why can't people just buy those products on their own?

I use Clearasil twice a day, as I'm prone to spots too. If I don't do this, I eventually get 20 spots on my face. Luckily the spots I get are a little darker than me, so they blend in. I never get red ones. A girl said they make me look more attractive, and she didn't know I had so many until I pointed to them on my face. o_O
Most people I know can leave the house after brushing their teeth. I can't really do that. I believe that a facial is like Starbucks. You're not paying for the coffee, you're paying for the experience. I don't pay for expensive things just to have the experience of things I could easily do myself. I would rather carry on what I usually do and buy a larger breakfast outside somewhere else for the same money.
Buying things for the premium experience doesn't apply to me. I'm not into the whole premium pricing thing. I was one of the few who tried Virgin Cola rather than carry on using worse tasting brands such as Coca Cola and Pepsi just because they have premium pricing. You'll never see me in Starbucks or regularly buying Krispy Kremes.
The answers for this question will apply to this question as to why someone would do such a thing. Why would someone buy a virtual good?
