How long will it take to build a minimum viable product in PHP or Python or Ruby on Rails?

I'm curious to hear your thoughts around the range of time.. Should there be a goal of X days? Should there be a ceiling? Exp, if over X weeks it is not a MVP etc... thanks

tynamite's avatar It depends what you're coding.
I've coded simple websites with PHP in 3-5 days, and ones using the Symfony PHP framework in 3-5 days. I use a framework for big projects to accelerate the development speed.

I've also coded things that took me 3 months, and me and others have worked on a coding a website using Symfony that took years to add all the features, even with of constant coding every day.

I've tried Rails and I hated it. I prefer Symfony. I don't like how the same module is split into 3 different app/ models/ view/ folders. I don't like having to use various db table files to define my database rather than just use one file. I don't like the perplexing app_controller.rb files that make it hard to know exactly what needs to go there, to achieve what effect. I don't like the enigma of the syntax.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
