This takes the cake for bigotry. Eva Glasrud's answer to What encourages women to become obsessed with beauty? Is there anything that can be done to prevent this?

People like to be defensive or shift the blame, for the things that aren't favourable ("light casting") to say out loud about oneself. Everyone knows that women are obsessed with beauty, so rather than Eva be honest and say that she's insecure or likes to be alluring to men, instead she'll shift the blame onto men, to make herself feel better. People like to show themselves in a good light on the internet.
Quora is full of feminists who will upvote her, as our past experiences with people, give us our prejudices of them. Everyone is prejudice to someone, and anyone who says they aren't, is lying.
Quora doesn't represent a fair sample of society. The number 1 followed topic is Startups.

Don't worry about it. That's life. People are different, and it just so happens that some people have drastically different viewpoints on the world. That's what makes life and the world so interesting.

PS. Eva is wrong. Actually it is women who are programmed to be shallow. I can back this up with scientific research!
