Should everyone go to prison for a month when they turn 18 as a way to discourage them from committing crimes?

tynamite's avatar The rates for murder in more economically developed countries with capital punishment, are at the same rate for MEDCs without capital punishment.

So on that basis, mandatory prison to act as a deterrent, wouldn't do any help, as prisoners are a product of their environment, who are criminals for other reasons other than wanting to do bad.

Most of them being locked up due to an artificially constructed environment of being poor.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?
