Should no one make fun of anyone for anything ever?

From this question:

Is it okay for guys to criticize or make fun of a girl with comparatively more body hair?

The top answer is:

"It's never ok to make fun of anyone about anything. Don't be an asshole."

Isn't this a very black and white approach to a shades of grey subject? Much of comedy involves people poking fun of themselves, their friends, family, other people, at their behaviors, quirks, etc etc. The blanket statement that no one should every make fun of anyone for anything seems counter to almost all evidence.

Our humour is not politically correct, but neither is any genuinely funny joke. If all jokes were offensive to no one, we would be left with chicken crossing the road jokes. And even then the chickens might not appreciate it,”

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
