To what extent does being a writer feel like "an effort" - just like other jobs - and to what extent does it feel like a privilege?

tynamite's avatar Writing is not a privilege, but being paid to do something that you love is a privilege. I am not paid to write, so that priviledge does not exist.

Writing was good for me at first, as I had an idea of where I really wanted to finish, but when I thought I was halfway through my novel, I actually was 25% finished. You can imagine how frustrating it was when I figured that the novel was going to be longer. Reaching the ending wasn't happening as quick as I thought. I finished the 120,000 word novel in 6 months, taking a 2 month break, and four months in, it felt like a rash I wanted to get off. I would wake up and start writing at 8am and finish writing at 10pm some days. I just wanted it over and done with.

There were chapters that took 5 or 6 hours to write. Nothing was hard for me. I never ran out of ideas. It was just long.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
