Do music artists get paid each time their music is played on the radio?

For example, does Third Eye Blind get paid for a song they made in '99 that is played on the radio today?

tynamite's avatar In the UK a £50 royalty gets paid for each time a song is played on the radio, but the musician doesn't any of this money, or not much, as the record label takes all the money from sales and royalties. Musicians don't make money from their music, they get money by their performances.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
