Do writers ever really feel like a work is finished? Or do they just get it "good enough" and have to let it go?

For any one work, is the revision process ever complete, to your satisfaction?

tynamite's avatar I feel that all creative work that I publish is finished. If I thought it was incomplete, I wouldn't let you see it. That's why I read my stuff over and over again to make sure it's complete. I like to make sure that my work is the definite article, that it is evidently crafted. Everyone who has read my writing, will tell you that my words are calculated and constructed into an impressive package.

I don't understand people who write what they feel and not be able to tell you what they did, to write what they have. Everything I write is premeditated and decided by rules that I have. I have a purpose of what I want to do with my writing, a concept of what it's about, and plan of what I want to happen. If I have to go back and edit something after proof reading it, then I am not doing my job properly.

I never feel that my work is good enough to release. I instead feel that my work is perfectly completed to release.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
