Is moderation in forums violating Americans' right to free speech?

I'm an admin for a game forum that has some specific rules. We don't permit profanity, spamming or in-game advertising except in certain areas (a designated thread and their blog).

Every now and then we'll get someone complaining that we are violating their right to free speech. I admit I find this very odd as I'm not taking away their right to say what they want, just one medium in which to say it.

I would like to know if there is a different opinion in the States and also if it makes a difference who owns the game or where the server is.

Discrimination and derogative behaviour is not included in the definition of free speech.

What's an assertion, and what should I type in?

Compesh is a question and answer (and debate) website, so before you make a debate, you better learn what an assertion is. I suppose you already know what a question is, and that you've typed it in the box. ;)

An assertion, is basically a statement you can make, that is either true or false.

Richer people have better health.

The question for that would be, Do richer people have better health?

And don't forget to make your assertion, match your question.
